The Afterlife of the Glass Ghost
Inspired by the short life of consumer technology, this work transforms a defunct Samsung tablet into a meditation on obsolescence and material memory. The discarded glass screen is given new life through hand engraving, becoming a surface where a small bird rests on a branch. The work asks whether objects designed to become obsolete can carry meaning beyond their intended lifespan. By repurposing electronic waste and discarded steel wire, the work reflects a sustainable approach to making in which transformation replaces disposal.
What song does the bird sing after the screen has gone dark?
