Title: Allotrope No.3: Exposed Nerve
Allotrope No.3: Exposed Nerve explores how carbon persists through transformation, taking radically different forms while remaining the same element. Carved, filed and re-charred with a torch, the charcoal surface shifts between deep matte black and reflective graphite. Five graphite pencil leads, wrapped in irregular copper coils, emerge from its core, pressing outward like an exposed nerve. The form resists a single reading, suggesting a standing torso, a weathered cliff or a geological remnant. Transformation becomes not the loss of identity, but its continual reconfiguration.
Same element. Endless transformations.
